Position: Regional Director Laboratory

The Regional Director of Laboratory Services will be responsible for strategic alliances and service line excellence through the development and implementation of regional and local RHM strategic and tactical plans for St. Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) laboratory services. The Regional Director works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide administrative support and direction to leadership within SJMHS laboratory services. Responsible for quality and standards of laboratory testing, performance improvement, program management, business operations, budget and resource utilization, and management development for designated areas. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of Trinity Health. Oversees the development and ongoing operations for SJMHS RHM laboratories. Integrates services system wide, including programmatic efficiencies. In collaboration with system leadership, assists in developing strategic plans and providing direction in operations. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory related discipline required.
- Master’s degree in either Business or Hospital Administration preferred.
B. Licensure / Certification
- MT (ASCP) preferred.
- Minimum of ten years’ experience leading strategic and business planning preferably within an integrated healthcare system in a competitive environment.
- Previous medical laboratory experience with demonstrated success in quality/safety metrics, patient satisfaction, cost, business development, and service line strategy.
