Position: Chief Operating Officer

Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Medical Group Executive in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
Coors Healthcare Solutions has been retained by our client in Central Virginia to identify an exceptional candidate to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for a hospital owned, multispecialty physician enterprise.
The COO will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Medical Group ensuring that clinical quality, patient satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, physician satisfaction, and financial vitality are optimized. The COO will be accountable for the development of high quality, cost-effective and integrated clinical programs; ensures integration with the nationally ranked Health System’s strategic plan in a changing and competitive healthcare market.
The COO candidate must possess the knowledge and excellent communication skills to work with various departments, clinical, administrative staff, and physicians to support integration for a highly successful operation. The COO will take the lead in standardizing, creating, and sustain a collaborative culture of trust, accountability, and transparency.
The COO will report to the President of the Medical Group and will assist in the development of the strategic planning process while providing operational and tactical leadership. The COO will manage a team of 300 FTE’s and 160 Physicians and Advance Practice Providers.

Required Experience and Background:
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration is required.
- Fellow or CMPE In American College of Medical Practice Executive is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years senior level management and experience with a multispecialty physician practice.
- Experience with hospital-based physician groups and provider-based billing.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of healthcare administration, fiscal management, and reimbursement regulations.
